Why a physician writes about real estate

Clinical training is training in evidence: gather the data, examine what it actually supports, and resist the conclusion you would prefer. Applied to a home, that means a written valuation built from closed comparables rather than an opinion delivered confidently.

The business training supplies the other half — modelling a sale as a financial decision with carrying costs, tax consequences and opportunity cost, rather than as a transaction with a commission attached.

Editorial standard

  • Figures are sourced and dated, or they are omitted.
  • Nothing is published as a statistic unless it can be traced to closed-sale data.
  • Guidance that varies by situation is described as varying, not averaged into a false rule.
  • Legal, tax and lending questions are flagged as questions for those professionals.
